History of CERES Education
CERES Community Environment Park has been in the business of environmental education for over 30 years. We have grown from our humble beginnings of 400 students onsite a year in the 1980s to the current 60-70,000 student visits per annum today and in 2010 we celebrated our 1,000,000th student visit, also we have mentored over 27% of Victorian schools in achieving sustainability through the ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic progam and trained and skilled adults in our registered courses, short courses and workshops.
From the early days of CERES we concentrated on experiential learning and real life applications of sustainability in our programs. Our topics and programs range from waste, water, biodiversity, land and food, energy conservation, renewable energy, sustainability, traditional and contemporary cultures, social justice, leadership, behaviour change, community engagement and supporting marginalised groups.
CERES Education and Training brings together three different areas of CERES; Adult Training, CERES Excursions and CERES Sustainability Education Outreach Group (SEOG).
