This menu is only available to daytime room hirers at CERES.

With only a few exceptions, all our ingredients are Organic, Local, Seasonal....Delicious!

Merri Catering in conjunction with the Seven Stars, is pleased to offer a selection of morning and afternoon teas, and 3 different priced options for your lunch, as well as some delicious extras.

As all produce comes from either CERES market gardens or small local producers, menu items are subject to seasonal availability.

MORNING TEA

$12 per person
Tea and Coffee served with all morning tea

Choose ONE of the following*:

  1. A selection of homemade Organic muffins served warm fresh from the oven (v)
  2. A selection of Organic Danish fruit pastries (v)
  3. Fresh seasonal fruit platter served with Organic natural yogurt (v, vg, gf)

*Choose one option for the whole group. Please advise us of any dietary requirements and these will be catered separately.
 

AFTERNOON TEA
$12 per person
Tea and Coffee served with all afternoon tea

Choose ONE of the following*:

  1. Seasonal Organic vegetable quiche (gf)
  2. Fresh seasonal fruit platter served with organic natural yogurt (v, vg, gf)
  3. A selection of Organic Danish fruit pastries (v)

*Choose one option for the whole group. Please advise us of any dietary requirements and these will be catered separately.


LUNCH OPTIONS

As all produce comes from either CERES market gardens or small local producers, menu items are subject to seasonal
availability.

Option 1 - The Harvest Lunch
($24 per person)

All dishes are served individually plated with home-made pita bread and green leafy salad. Each person to choose ONE of the following:

  1. Lasagne—Organic cauliflower and cannellini bean lasagne with rocket pesto (VG or GF available on request)
  2. Chicken & Vegetable Casserole—Milawa Organic chicken casserole with rosemary and roasted peppers served with semolina dumplings (GF available on request)
  3. Fish Pie—Market fresh sustainable fish and potato pie with puff pastry and smoked tomato
  4. Vegan Pie—Chunky seasonal vegetable pie with fresh garden herbs, vegan puff pastry and smoked tomato
  5. The Merri Salad—Spring salad with Organic grilled lamb, roast pumpkin, olives, fetta, salad leaves and lemon (V available on request)

Option 2 - The Farmers' Lunch
($17 per person vegetarian/$19 per person non vegetarian)

A selection of Organic focaccia or wraps with soup or salad, served buffet style. Fillings are chosen daily, based on seasonal and market availability—please advise of dietary requirements.

To accompany the foccacias and wraps, each person to choose veg or non-veg and ONE of the following:

  1. Soup of the Day—Seasonal vegetable ‘chunky’ soup served with home-made pita bread
  2. Summer Shepherds’ Salad—Organic tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, garlic, lemon, dill, parsley, sumac, olive oil and sea salt
  3. Homemade Potato Salad—Organic potatoes, parsley, mint, red pepper, sea salt, organic lemon oil dressing and sumac.

Option 3 - The Turkish Lunch
($15 per person vegetarian/$18 per person lamb)

All dishes are served family style with pilaf rice and seasonal green leafy salad. Each person to choose ONE of the following:

  1. Summer Vegetable Stew—Spring/Summer Seasonal veggies of green beans, zucchini, eggplant, potatoes, green and red peppers slow cooked in tomatoes, onions and spices
  2. Turkish Lamb Stew—Organic Gippsland Lamb cooked with green Beans, eggplant, potatoes, green and red peppers slow cooked in tomatoes, onions and spices


EXTRA

Prices as below—Minimum 20 people

All served buffet style, you may order entirely from this list, or use it to supplement
one of the other options.

Lemonade
Home-made sparkling organic lemonade - $2.50 per person

Wedges
Home cut wedges with rosemary & sea salt - $3.00 per person (V VG GF)

Dips
Homemade dips served with homemade pita bread - $4.00 per person for a
choice of 2:

  1. Beetroot—Organic beetroot with local yoghurt, garlic and sea salt (V GF)
  2. Grilled Eggplant—Organic grilled eggplant, tahini, garlic, sea salt.(V VG GF)
  3. Carrot & Yoghurt—Organic fried carrot, garlic, local yoghurt and seasoning. (V GF)
  4. Hommus—Organic chickpeas, tahini, garlic, organic lemon, and seasoning. (V VG GF)

Cheese Pocha (minimum order of 20)
A Turkish traditional, filled yeast bread roll made with organic flour filled with
mixed cheeses and fresh herbs (V) $5.50 per person

Seasonal Vegetable Borek (minimum order of 20)
These delightful pastries are traditionally eaten for breakfast and lunch in Turkey
and can be filled with a wide array of ingredients including fetta, mushrooms and
spinach. Fillings are seasonal and are sourced where possible from CERES organic
market gardens (V)
$6.00 per person. Minced Meat Filling add $1.50

Mercimek Kofte (minimum order of 20)
Red lentil and burghul wheat vegetarian patties using paprika, tomato, fresh organic
herbs and sautéed onions (V VG) $2.50 each
