25 years logoCERES has recently celebrated its 25th birthday. CERES Chairperson Robert Larocca says:

“Twenty-five years ago it was about changing the world for the better - a more sustainable society - and that is still the case. Twenty five years ago the CERES community was telling the story that Al Gore has made popular today and over that time we have helped hundreds of thousands of people make their lives more environmentally sustainable.

It shows you what a community can do if it sets its mind to it.

At CERES people of all ages can learn how to change the world, or just relax, have a cup of coffee, buy a native plant or locally grown organic fruit and vegetables. You can learn how other societies live, how to save water, energy and engage in sustainable agriculture.

These activities, and more occur in a community park with free entry which acts as a 55 tonne carbon sink for the local area. Today we recognise the efforts of the thousands of volunteers, workers, organisations and governments that that have helped us get to where we are now.

CERES hopes that in the next 25 years we do live in a different world, a sustainable one with a greater level of equality and peace.”
