Hospitality Trainer Position

Applications close: 22 April, 2015. 

We are currently accepting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced hospitality trainers starting Term 2 2015. Ideal candidates will have hospitality training (at least Cert II level), some industry experience and a Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE). Experience in training or working with young people with a disability is desirable.

The key area of focus is to deliver the CERES Training curriculum to students and groups by providing practical experiential learning with an accredited or non accredited outcome in a safe and supportive learning environment. This position is an important part of the CERES Training Team.

The position will involve teaching 2 groups on 2 days, Tuesday and Wednesday, throughout the school terms 2 - 4 in 2015. Total hours = 11 per week.

CERES Education - Outreach Educator (Part-time position)

The CERES Education Outreach team delivers sustainability education services to early childhood centres, schools and the community. CERES Education is looking for a new Outreach team member to deliver the ResourceSmart Schools program to schools in Eastern and Southern Metropolitan Regions of Melbourne.
 
ResourceSmart Schools brings together sustainability educators and delivery organisations to help Victorian schools minimise waste, save energy and water, improve biodiversity in their school grounds, and cut their greenhouse gas emissions. The framework helps guide schools to develop a ‘whole school approach’ to sustainability, weaving it into the fabric of everyday school and community life. It integrates educational, environmental, social and economic outcomes so that schools do not work with each area in isolation but as components of the bigger picture of sustainability.

This is a 2-3 day per week position, at CERES Pay Level EM3 – $28 per hour + superannuation.

Applicants are asked to submit responses to the key selection criteria (no longer than 2 x A4 pages), and a curriculum vitae, including qualifications and experience.

Volunteer at CERES

Across the organisation we also have approximately 400 people providing their time and expertise as volunteers. Volunteers contribute to the key CERES enterprises such as Honey Lane and Harding Street Market Gardens, CERES site maintenance crews and behind the scenes through admin work. 

The CERES seed propogation program is also a popular hub for volunteers and the fruits of volunteers labour can be seen all over the site as well as in the Market Gardens and at our Permaculture and Bushfood nursery. Many people decide to commit a regular amount of time to CERES such as a day or half day a week. For others they will be inspired by a particular project such as our Harvest Festival and volunteer only for the life of the project.
