How to get here:

By tram: Take the Number 96 tram to East Brunswick from the city (from Bourke St, travelling up Nicholson St) all the way to the end of the line (the intersection of Blyth and Nicholson Streets). CERES is about a 5 minute walk from the tram stop. Turn right down Blyth St (which becomes Arthurton Rd) and take the second street on the left (Roberts St) - CERES is about 100m up Roberts St on the right - you can't miss it. Turn right at Lee St and walk in.

By bus: Take the 503 Essendon to East Brunswick bus. Departs from Essendon Station and runs via Russell St, Napier St, Brewster St, Pascoe Vale Rd, Albion Street, Nicholson St, Stewart St, Roberts St and Arthurton Rd to the terminus at the corner of Blyth and Ryan St. Get off at the Lee St stop and you’re right out the front.

By bike/walking: The Merri Creek bike path runs along the edge of CERES, so it’s very accessible for walkers and cyclists. You can enter via the gate closest to the Blyth St/Atherton Road bridge in Brunswick East. Simply follow the green council signs along the path to CERES. The Merri Creek Bike Path also connects to the Capital City Trail.

Visit the the Bikeshed at CERES! The Bikeshed is a volunteer site group who promote cycling in the local community by teaching people how to fix their own bikes, or purchase a recycled bike. www.thebikeshed.org.au

By car: CERES site is a car free zone (excepting deliveries, site vehicles and disabled access), and where possible encourages people to consider transport alternatives such as car pooling, public transport or bicycles. Parking is very limited at CERES! If you are driving, please park in one of the following car parks: at our main entrance (Cnr Roberts and Stewart St, or (on Blyth St approaching the creek from Nicholson St or in the spaces at the Lee St entrance.

Car Pooling: Ozcarpool, an Australia-wide car pool database, will put you in touch with other people in your area that commute at the same time as you each day. Once you get a match, all you have to do is contact that person via email to start your carpool group. www.ozcarpool.com.au

Car Sharing: Car sharing is a great alternative system of car ownership, access and use. The costs and responsibilities of vehicle purchase, ownership and maintenance are transferred to a central group. Members pay a fee to join a car share scheme and then have the right to take and use a car when needed. The self-service cars are available for use 24 hours a day for as little as an hour at a time or longer periods.
The benefits of car share are:

  • Reduces demand for parking
  • Older, more polluting cars are replaced with new, more fuel efficient vehicles
  • Encourages smarter transportation choices to maximise transportation efficiency
  • Builds stronger community through efficient sharing of resources
