Stoney Creek Flaxseed
Stoney Creek Flaxseed
The Farm
Founded in 1992 by Fred and Coral Davies, Stoney Creek Oil Products is based on the Davies family farm near Talbot, in central Victoria-about two hours north-west of Melbourne.
Fred and Coral are concerned about climate change and the very real impact it is having on the environment. The company is determined to play a leading role in demonstrating how a sustainable agribusiness can survive - and indeed prosper - in an environment dramatically affected by climate change.
Stoney Creek continues to foster sustainable farming, and supports the rights of Australians to consume foods that are nutritious and not genetically altered. Stoney Creek now embraces minimum till and pasture cropping methodology, and stands proudly upon their commitment to Healthy Farm-Healthy Food.
Quality
Stoney Creek’s small batch, cold-pressing methodology ensures that you receive the freshest oil possible – unrefined, without any chemical additives or preservatives.
Brown Flaxseed Oil
Grown under full NASAA organic certification, Brown Flaxseed Oil is high in Omega 3 and Omega 6 essential fatty acids. It has a bolder flavour than Golden Flaxseed, with a fresh nutty taste. It can be used in salad dressings, added to smoothies, or drizzled over rice, pasta and vegetables just before serving.
Flaxseed oil burns very easily, destroying the Omega 3 fatty acids so it is not used for cooking.
Golden Flaxseed Oil
Grown under full NASAA organic certification, Golden Flaxseed Oil is also high in Omega 3 essential fatty acids. It has a lighter flavour than Brown Flaxseed Oil, but still has a lovely nutty flavour. It can be used in the same way as Brown Flaxseed Oil.
To maintain freshness and prolong shelf life, Flaxseed Oil should be kept refrigerated.
Where to Buy
It is now available in the refrigerator section of the CERES Organic Shop in 500ml food-lined metal cans. Or you can purchase the Brown Flaxseed (linseed) in bulk quantities per kg.
