The Melbourne Zen Group is based in The Learning Centre at CERES. The group meets on a regular basis for group meditation and also organises Zen retreats and workshops throughout the year.

Everyone is welcome to join the regular meditation meetings which take place on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings at CERES.

 

If you’ve got little or no experience with meditation or with Zen, please visit the Melbourne Zen Group website at http://mzg.org.au/ and read the Sitting with Us section to get an idea of what to expect when you visit. It is best to arrive 15 minutes before the meditation starts to say hello, help set up and get seated. People usually remain for tea and a chat after meditation, and everyone is welcome to join in.

Longer periods of meditation (called zazenkai) are held on the last Saturday of the month from 9am to 1pm. These sometimes include either a talk, or a discussion led by an experienced member of the group. Retreats and workshop programs are organised throughout the year.
