Perpetuate a season of goodwill in your garden. Work with, not against nature. Provide habitat for frogs, lizards and beneficial insects. CERES Permaculture and Bushfood Nursery stocks a great general range of plants from seedlings to semi advanced trees and a spectacular selection in between. If you cannot find something in stock we will try our best to get it in for you.

CERES Nursery is unfortunately UNABLE to provide the following products and services at this point in time
- indigenous or bushfood seeds (only vegetable and a few varieties of herb and flower seeds),
- local or interstate postal services (we are unable to send plants, sorry)

BUSH BEANS
Phaseolus nanus


CLIMBING BEANS
Phaseolus vulgaris

Fresh beans from the garden are a taste sensation. High yielding and rich in vitamins.

Plant in full sun in well prepared soil. Plant after frost. Climbing beans will need a support or trellis.
LETTUCE
Latuca sativa
The varieties are as endless as the summer. Well prepared soil. Sunny position. Keep moist .Suitable for pots.
BEETROOT
Beta vulgaris
Both the bulb and leaves are eaten fresh or cooked. High nutritional and vitamin content. Well prepared soil. Moist sunny position.
PUMPKIN
Cucurbita maxima
A wonderfully versatile vegetable with good keeping qualities. A spreading vine for rich soil in a sunny position. Keep moist.
BROCCOLI
Brassica oleracea spp.
Little green trees high in vitamin C and protein. Requires rich moist soil. Sunny position.
ROCK MELON/
CANTALOUPE
Cucumis melo
A sweet summer vine fruit. Well prepared soil. Open, sunny position.
BRUSSELS SPROUTS
Brassica oleracea var. gemmifera
A richly flavoured vegetable. High in vitamins, iron, calcium and folic acid. Plant in well prepared soil, sunny position. Flavour improves with frost.
SILVERBEET
Beta vulgaris
A tasty vegetable with several colourful stalk varieties. Plant in spring. Sunny position.
CABBAGE
Brassica oleracea var. capitata
Delicious raw, cooked or pickled. Rich well drained soil, sunny postion.
SPINACH
Spinacia oleracea
Beautiful cooked or fresh in salads. Plant in spring. Moist, sunny position.
CAPSICUM AND CHILLIES
Capsicum annum
Sweet capsicums are delicious either fresh or cooked. Hot chillies are excellent pickled, dried and, of course, fresh. Plant in well prepared soil in a sunny position. Plant after frost.
SPRING ONIONS
Allium fistulosum
Rich in vitamin C, iron, sulphur and fibre. Delicious. Plant in early spring. Easy to grow.
CAULIFLOWER
Brassica oleracea var. botrytis
A late summer vegetable. Prefers well-drained, moist soil in full sun.
SQUASH
Cucurbita pepo
A beautifully ornamental vegetable and good to eat. Creeping vine for a sunny, open position.
CELERY
Apium graveolens var. dulce
A deliciously crisp vegetable. Well prepared soil with plenty of manure. Prefers cool conditions. Keep well watered.
SWEET CORN
POPPING CORN
Zea mays
Delicious summer vegetable. Requires rich soil with regular water. Sunny position.
CUCUMBER
Cucumis sativus
Cool and crisp is the cucumber. Prefers rich, moist, well drained soil. Plant in a sunny open position. Plant after frost.
TOMATO
Lycopersicon lycopersicon
The best summer fruit, always worth growing at home. A vine that needs staking and prefers rich, well prepared soil. Full sun.
EGGPLANT
Solanum melongena
A most beautiful vegetable. Well prepared soil. Sunny position. Keep moist
WATERMELON
Citrullus vulgaris
Sensational sweet summer fruit. Requires well prepared soil. Open sunny position. Keep moist.
LEEK
Alliumampeloprasum var. porrum
The sleek leek is rich in vitamin C. A stronger, creamier flavour than onions. Prefers a rich, deep soil. Full sun.
ZUCCHINI
Cucubita pepo
Quick growing, prolific, tasty vegetable. Plant in a full sun, open position. Keep moist.
