About Green Technology
line

Living well and healthily means having strong and robust systems for collecting, using and transforming water, energy and waste. Sometimes those systems can be environmental problems, and sometimes they work in hand with the environment. The technologies that let us deal with our water, waste and energy sustainably are called “green technologies” or sometimes “ecological systems”, using the best of current science and engineering plus the great and simple ideas of primitive skills in a whole-system approach to solve problems.

The Green Technology area at CERES works on a range of projects to do with water, waste and energy systems. Most of these are to support CERES site infrastructure or transport, always continuing to make CERES a truly sustainable organisation that walks its talk. All our projects are done as demonstrations or as research to learn what works, and can be seen on site or on guided tours. We are currently preparing a selection of fact sheets to make the projects and research results more accessible to people wanting to try these technologies for themselves.

The people in Green Technology are:
Tiki Swain, Green Technology Coordinator, tiki@ceres.org.au
Stephen Mushin, Ecological Systems Designer, stephen@ceres.org.au
