The Seed Savers’ Network was established in Australia in 1986 to preserve the diversity of our food seed stock. This is even more important now; in 2009, two-thirds of commercial seed companies worldwide were owned by three corporations who sell the chemicals on which these seeds depend.

Seed Savers is a network of friends and neighbours drawn together to ensure the preservation, free distribution and exchange of locally adapted open pollinated seeds and other planning materials. Seed saving is a political and practical alternative to the trend of Genetically Modified seeds. If you want to be involved or learn more about it email seedsavers@ceres.org.au
