Now available every Saturday throughout Winter from 9.30 am - 1 pm we have Grill-Master Nase Supplitt firing up the BBQ serving bio-dynamic beef snags from Rendina's Butchery on organic sourdough. Not your beef? Try our organic tofu burgers instead!
CERES Organic Market, with its family-friendly atmosphere, live music and craft stalls is the heart of the CERES distribution food system.
Local organic produce
The Market sells locally produced, affordable organic fruit and vegetables, along with organic sourdough breads and pastries. We have fair-trade coffee and tea available and yummy organic muffins from the CERES Cafe.
As much produce as possible is sourced from the CERES Honey Lane and Merri Creek market gardens, or from other small sustainable growers and backyard producers around Melbourne.

We buy from our neighbours
From our network of city growers we buy truly local, seasonal produce. Pete, a CERES community gardener for many years has been providing CERES with lemons, persimmons and herbs for nearly 10 years
We go to local farmers
We buy direct from as many local growers as we can find including Kane from Busch Organics in Gippsland and Joe Sgro from Foothill Organics in Colac
We carefully source from wholesalers
We buy through wholesalers at the Melbourne Markets – wherever possible we seek out Victorian produce
We show people the food miles
Now, there are things that do not grow in the great state of Victoria all year round or at all – such as bananas – which judging by demand we’re not going to give up in a hurry. In these cases we’ll let you know how many kilometres each fruit or vegetable has travelled so you can choose to eat as locally as you like
