CERES Community Kitchen - Celebrating Community and Food. A group space to learn, teach, connect and inspire.
The Community Kitchen comfortably fits up to twelve people to cook and larger groups can be accommodated by combining the Community Kitchen and the Lower Merri meeting room - perfect for large workshops or events.
CERES Community Kitchen has recently acquired a license for food to be prepared onsite for external sale. If you are a food business you need to be registered with Moreland Council as using our premises.
The kitchen can be used for:
- Social cooking - eg. group dinners or big batch cooking
- Cooking classes and workshops
- Hospitality training
- Food businesses preparing food for sale*
- Product Demonstrations
- Self catered parties or events
- Team building days
- Recipe testing
- Community cooking days - eg. preserving
The kitchen can be hired alone or with a facilitator. CERES is a registered training organisation delivering Certificate II in Hospitality and we can also tailor an accredited or pre-accredited hospitality training program to suit your group.
*Food Businesses preparing food for external sale
CERES Community Kitchen can be hired to produce food that is sold externally. For food producers to use our kitchen they must be registered as a food business with Moreland City Council with the community kitchen listed as a food preparation premise. If you are interested in using the kitchen for food preparation for sale please let the venue hire team know your intention to hire and details of your food business before registering with council.
