VET in schools

Education and Training are central to the CERES vision. At CERES we have a community food system, centred around our organic farm. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about sustainable food production and to connect with the soil.
There are opportunities for involvement in every aspect of production, from propagation and working on the farm, to buying or trading produce at the market or Urban Orchard.
CERES offers a diverse range of educational programs and courses for people of all ages and abilities. CERES is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) accredited training in Hospitality and Horticulture to over 100 secondary students each year. We also provided programs for adults through our ACFE courses and our weekend workshops. All workshops focus on sustainable gardening, sustainable living and sustainable cooking and cover a huge range of topics from seed saving to renewable energy at home, chook care, cheese making, bread baking to mosaic craft and much more.
We have a wonderful staff of trainers, many of whom have a long history of involvement with CERES and are passionate about sharing their knowledge with the community.
