Kingfisher Festival Saturday 28th November - Gate Staff
Position start and end dates: 28/11/2009
Number of volunteers and shift times - festival day:
- Gate Assistants 2.30-5.00 PM – 6 Volunteers
- Gate Assistants 4.45-7.15 PM – 9 Volunteers
- Gate Assistant 7.00 – 9.15 PM – 6 Volunteers
Objectives : Creation of a well-organised, friendly entry experience for visitors
Specific tasks and duties:
- General meeting and greeting of visitors to the festival - friendly communicative
- Selling tickets
- Keeping track of the gate list (volunteer and artists)
- Managing the cashbox (handling cash transactions and assisting the Gate Manager in keeping track of the float)
- Being the public face of CERES (answering public inquiries)
- The last shift will also involve some pack down duties towards the end of the shift. (ie. packing up all items on the table, folding up and putting away table and chairs)

Training:
- An induction for this role will take place 15 minutes prior to the shift.
- Additionally volunteers will be provided with an emergency procedure run down induction.
Fitness level required : The role requires no particular level of physical fitness. Seating is provided. Bring clothes appropriate for the weather on the day!
Skills/experience:
- Customer service and cash handling experience is a plus
- Friendly, welcoming attitude and the desire to interact with patrons of the event required
