World Medicinal Garden Project Coordinator
The World CERES Medicinal Garden group started in November 2010. This group is a common interest volunteer group interested in locally growing and harvesting medicinal plants.
In recent years the use of complementary and alternative medicines has risen exponentially as many people experience the health benefits of medicinal plants. However there has been little discussion as to whether this growing industry is operating in a sustainable and responsible way.
Learning how to cultivate medicinal plants and preserving the healing traditions of our various cultures is one way in which we can work toward a locally based, self-reliant approach to medicinal plants. This group is opening up volunteer employment opportunities to those passionate in the areas of traditional medicine and gardening combined.
This position will oversee the daily management, administration and planning or the World medicinal garden project. In this role, you will work in a small team reporting directly to the project supervisor. You will also be the primary contact(s) for the project with other CERES staff and for new CERES volunteers seeking to enter the project.
